GBHI Offside Rule

The GBHI Offside rule is quite simple –

Players may precede the puck over the centre red line but, the puck must be carried over the red line.

Passes made to a team-mate over the centre red line are illegal.

  1. ‘A’ collects the puck in his own zone and passes over the dashed red line to ‘B’ in the opposition zone – OFFSIDE!
  2. ‘A’ collects the puck in his own zone and passes to ‘B’ in his own zone – ONSIDE!
  3. ‘A’ collects the puck in his own zone and passes to ‘B’ in his own zone, ‘B’ carries the puck over the dashed red line into the opposition zone and passes the puck to ‘C’ – ONSIDE!
  4. ‘A’ collects the puck in his own zone, ‘D’ skates into the opposition zone, ‘A’ passes to ‘B’ in his own zone, ‘B’ passes to ‘C’ in his own zone ‘C’ carries the puck over the dashed red line into the opposition zone and shoots on goal – ONSIDE!

 

Other Rules to Note

Body-Checking

No intentional body contact allowed at any level

Hand Pass to a Team-mate

Permitted in Defending Zone

Illegal Clearing (Icing)

The puck cannot be shot from behind the centre red line over the opposition goal line.
